About This Event
Shree Krishna Janmashtami 2026 is a free, family-friendly celebration of the birth of Lord Krishna, hosted by the Hare Krsna Temple at Burbank on Brisbane's south-east side. The programme opens at 4.00pm and runs right through to midnight.
The festival features traditional devotional music and kirtan, cultural dance performances, drama presentations, storytelling and Krishna katha, interactive children's activities, spiritual displays and festive decorations. Entry is free and no booking is required. The event is open to people of all ages and all backgrounds, and is proudly sponsored by Brisbane City Council as part of its multicultural events programme.
