About This Event
The Hindu Council of Australia presents Deepavali 2026 - Festival of Lights, billed by the organisers as "Australia's Biggest" Deepavali celebration, across two days at Blacktown Showground. Entry is free and the fair runs from 12pm to 10pm on both Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October 2026.
The advertised programme includes Ravan Dahan, a Ramayan presentation, fireworks, amusement rides, a cultural extravaganza and a wide variety of food.
The Hindu Council ran an open call for cultural performances for this fair, with separate performance slots on the 24th and the 25th, taking classical, folk, Bollywood, fusion, drama, singing, instrumental and jugalbandi acts of up to 15 minutes, so both days carry their own stage programme rather than repeating one bill. This is an outdoor event on the showground, with stalls run by food vendors, market and commercial stallholders, community organisations, charities, government agencies and amusement operators.
