About This Event
Maya S. Krishnan — actor, theatre artist, Koothu and folk performer, musician and improvisational comedian, seen in films including Vikram, Leo and 2.0 — brings Pomblel, her debut solo stand-up special, to Sydney.
At the heart of the show is Manjula Teacher, the character who took the Tamil internet by storm, ready with satire and unshakeable conviction to run her 'kalachara' class. After more than a decade across theatre, film and digital content, Pomblel is Maya's first stand-up special: raw, personal and built on storytelling, wit and audience interaction.
The show is in Tamil and English and is strictly 18+. Late entry is not permitted and the show starts on time — the organisers recommend arriving at least 30 minutes early. Photography and recording are not allowed.
