About This Event
Chinmaya Mission Australia (Sydney) hosts its annual Shree Krishna Janmashtami celebration at the Chinmaya Sannidhi Ashram in Castle Hill. The evening opens with a family program featuring Maha Puja (bathing of the Lord), Veda chanting, bhajans, rocking the cradle, a Krishna Leela exhibition and aarti, followed by Madki (pot) breaking and dinner prasad.
The second half leads up to the midnight birth of Lord Krishna with Nama Sankirtan, a talk on Krishna Leela, Geeta chanting, meditation and a Maha Arati with Maha Prasad at midnight. Registration is $10 per person (over age 5), free for children under 5.
