About This Event
ISKCON Brisbane hosts Brisbane's largest Sri Krishna Janmashtami festival, celebrating the divine appearance day of Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The main festival runs from 4pm until midnight on Saturday 5 September 2026 at The Croatian Club Brisbane, 210 Dunn Road, Rocklea.
Janmashtami is an annual highlight of the temple's cultural calendar and is celebrated worldwide with great devotion, with temples decorated and devotees attending in large numbers. The Brisbane celebration includes a variety of ceremonies, performances and activities for all ages. As the largest host of the festival in Brisbane, ISKCON Brisbane accommodates over 4,000 guests each year, including prominent leaders and guests from a range of communities and faiths.
Earlier on the same day, devotees are also invited to the temple itself at 8 Lee Road, Darra from 4:30am for a special Mangala Arati - in Srila Prabhupada's words, 'the auspicious beginning of your day'. The temple's regular daily schedule continues alongside the festival.
Entry to the festival is free. Donation and sponsorship opportunities are offered through the temple's Janmashtami page for anyone who wants to support the event, and volunteers who would like to contribute their skills to running Brisbane's biggest ISKCON festival can register their interest through the sign-up form on the same page.
