About This Event
'Ishq Sufiana' is Laksh Maheshwari's 90-minute tribute to the profound poetry and timeless philosophies of the Sufi saints - Amir Khusrow, Bulleh Shah and Kabir. Laksh weaves together the narratives of these iconic figures, unravelling their stories of love, spirituality and self-discovery and taking the audience through the mystic realm of Sufism.
The evening closes with his decoding and retelling of the tragic yet timeless love story of Laila Majnu, performed alongside the legendary songs from that epic. Expect an immersive experience where stories meet songs, and the divine and the romantic intertwine for a night of ehsaas and ruhaniyat.
The show is at Good Chat Comedy Club, the basement room downstairs at Caxton Street Brewing Co, on the corner of Caxton Street and Petrie Terrace. Doors open at 5.30pm for a 6.00pm start and the performance runs 90 minutes. Suitable for ages 12 and over.
Tickets are $65.70 including booking fee and are non-refundable.
Getting there: the venue has no car park of its own. There is street parking on nearby Sheriff, Weetman and Judge Streets, and paid parking at The Barracks shopping centre across the road. Milton and Roma Street stations are both within walking distance.
Presented by Marching Elephants Entertainment and The Laughter Factory.
