About This Event
Hindu Ahlaya Sangam Qld Inc invites devotees to Sri Varalakshmi Viratham and Thiruvilakku Pooja at Sri Selva Vinayakar Koyil (Ganesha Temple), South Maclean, on Friday 28 August 2026. The observance falls on Shravana Purnima, a day the temple also marks with its Full Moon / Pournami / Sathyanarayana Poojai.
The published programme runs across the evening: Special Abishekam at 5:00pm, Regular Pooja at 6:00pm, the Varalakshmi Special Pooja at 6:30pm and the Thiruvilakku Pooja at 7:00pm, followed by Vasantha Mandapa Pooja at 7:30pm, a circumprocession of Goddess Sri Raja Rajeswari along the inner pathway at 8:00pm, and Anna Thanam at 8:30pm.
Devotees wishing to take part in the Thiruvilakku Pooja are asked to book in advance at the temple at a cost of $51.00, and to bring their own ritual items - a kuththuvilakku (lamp), coconut, flowers, a small Ganesha idol or Ganesha in turmeric, betel leaves, arecanut, fruit, oil and wick, matches, incense sticks, a small tray for the vilakku, santhanam and kumkum.
