About This Event
Teeyan Canberra Dian 2026 is a Punjabi Teeyan celebration headlined by singer and actress Miss Pooja, held at Melrose High School in Pearce on Sunday 26 July 2026 from 1:00pm to 5:30pm.
Teeyan is the traditional festival celebrating women, and the Canberra edition brings the local Punjabi community together for an afternoon of live music, dance and festivities. Miss Pooja headlines - born in Rajpura, Punjab, she took a BA in vocal and instrumental skills at Punjabi University and an MA in Music at PGGCG Chandigarh, taught music before her 2006 debut duet 'Jaan Ton Piyari', and went on to release 'Romantic Jatt' (2009), 'Do Nain', 'Jattitude' (2012) and 'Shona Shona', act in the Punjabi films 'Panjaban' and 'Channa Sachi Muchi', and sing 'Second Hand Jawani' for the Bollywood film 'Cocktail'.
The event is presented by Barood Media together with Canberra Flooring & Maintenance. It is a 100% non-alcoholic, family event. Ticket prices do not include food: food and other stalls operate on site to buy from separately. Children aged 7 and over need a full ticket. Parking is available at the venue, and organisers recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the start for a smooth entry. All sales are final - tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged, and booking fees are non-refundable even if the event is postponed or cancelled.
