About This Event
The University of Melbourne's Discover Unimelb program and the University of Melbourne Student Union (UMSU) present Diwali on University Plaza, outside the Glyn Davis Building at the Parkville campus.
In the organisers' own words: "Celebrate Diwali, the vibrant Festival of Lights, with Discover Unimelb and UMSU! Everyone is invited to share in this beloved tradition observed across South Asia, Southeast Asia, and diaspora communities worldwide. Join us and enjoy cultural food and live performances at Parkville Campus."
The celebration runs from 5pm to 8pm and is open to the wider community, not only students. Registration is through the University's own bookings system. Past editions of the campus Diwali have drawn around a thousand people and featured student performances alongside professional Indian dance groups.
