About This Event
The Consulate General of India, Sydney marks the 80th Independence Day of India with a reception and cultural evening for the Indian diaspora and friends of India, held in the Darling Harbour Theatre inside the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney on Sunday 16 August 2026 from 12:30pm.
The programme includes official speeches, Indian classical, popular and folk dance and music performances by both Indian and Australian talent, raffle prizes, and Indian refreshments.
Entry is free but strictly by prior registration. Registrants completed the Consulate's online form (title, full name, nationality, passport or driver's licence number, email, mobile, occupation, organisation, Australian address, preferred seating level 3 or 4, and party size up to 10) and were emailed a QR-coded entry pass. Each pass admits one person only and must be shown at the venue. The Consulate asked attendees to confirm attendance by 7 August 2026.
