About This Event
Sydney Murugan Temple at Mays Hill opens its ten-day Navarathiri Viratham observance on Sunday 11 October 2026, with Amman Abishekam at 5:00 pm. The temple's published calendar lists Amman Abishekam at 5:00 pm on every day of the observance through to Maha Navami.
Several days carry additional rites. The fourth day, Wednesday 14 October, adds Sathurthi Ganapathy Homam and a Vinayagar (Utshavar) Abishekam at 6:00 am. The sixth day, Friday 16 October, coincides with Sasti Viratham and adds Valli Theivanai Murugan Abishekam at 9:00 am. Saraswathy Pooja begins on the seventh and eighth days, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October. The tenth day, Maha Navami on Tuesday 20 October, adds a Special Homam alongside the 5:00 pm Amman Abishekam. The observance culminates in Vijaya Thasami on Wednesday 21 October.
Sydney Murugan Temple is a Saiva temple on the Great Western Highway at Mays Hill, near Parramatta.
