About This Event
The Brisbane Theosophical Society hosts a free public lecture introducing the classical Indian philosophical traditions, held in person at its premises at 355 Wickham Terrace, Spring Hill. The talk runs for one hour, from 7pm to 8pm on Wednesday 26 August 2026.
It forms part of the Society's long-running weekly Wednesday evening lecture programme, which covers philosophy, comparative religion, science and spirituality, self-realisation and universal love. Those Wednesday talks usually start at 7:00pm or 7:30pm, run about an hour, and are followed by supper, with a suggested $5 donation - this particular lecture is ticketed free of charge through Eventbrite, with registration closing on the day of the event.
The Society describes its events and workshops as heavily subsidised and run at cost to cover materials and labour, so that anyone interested in spiritual study can find community and higher learning within a free-thinking organisation.
The venue is the Society's heritage-listed three-storey building on Wickham Terrace, built in the 1860s and bought by the Theosophical Society in 1925. As well as the lecture hall it houses a spiritual library and bookshop, and hosts meditation groups, art classes, study and social groups and workshops through the year.
