About This Event
The 15th annual Iconic India Day Fair is Queensland's largest celebration of India's Independence Day and one of Brisbane's biggest multicultural community events. It runs on Saturday 15 August 2026 from 10:00am to 8:30pm at Roma Street Parkland, 1 Parkland Boulevard, Brisbane City. Entry is free, no bookings are required, and Brisbane City Council lists it as suitable for all ages.
Presented by GOPIO Queensland, the day brings together live cultural performances, Bollywood entertainment, traditional and contemporary music, authentic Indian cuisine, market and community stalls, children's activities and fashion showcases.
The formal segment of the programme is opened by the India Day Fair Multicultural Parade — a march of roughly 500 metres in front of Roma Street Parkland, in which each participating association gets about a minute to present its banner and flag and be acknowledged by the MC. There is no cost for a community organisation to join the parade; the parade coordinator is Tapas Mandal on +61 424 710 570.
Roma Street Parkland sits directly above Roma Street station and is served by train, bus and the CBD walking network, so public transport is the easiest way in. Stallholder, sponsorship and volunteer forms for the fair are published on the GOPIO Queensland website. General enquiries go.
