About This Event
The Canberra Malayalees Association presents Aaravam 2026, its grand celebration of Kerala's harvest festival, Onam — a full day of tradition, entertainment, food and games on Saturday 29 August 2026.
The programme opens with the traditional Onasadya feast from 11:00am to 2:00pm, followed by Onam games from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, a Thiruvathira performance at 5:30pm, and the live stage show from 6:00pm onwards, running through to around 10:00pm.
The evening show features artists Mridula Varier, Pradeep Babu, Rafeeq Rahman and Sruthi Lakshmi.
The day is held at Mount Stromlo High School, 220 Badimara Street, Waramanga. Family tickets are booked online through justeasybook.com/events/cmaonam26aravam; an early-bird offer saving $5-$10 per ticket ran until 10 July or the first 200 tickets sold. This is a ticketed, family-friendly community event and Canberra's largest Malayalee Onam celebration. For enquiries contact the Canberra Malayalees Association on (02) 6188 9808.
