About This Event
Summer is the season of Pitta — the dosha of fire, intensity and transformation. In balance it brings ambition, focus and joy; out of balance it shows up as inflammation, irritability, digestive flare-ups, overheating and burnout. In this workshop at The H Dispensary in Griffith, Ayurvedic doctor Aman Dhillon guides you through staying cool, grounded and energised through the warmer months.
The interactive session includes a live cooking demonstration, a shared tasting to explore flavours, textures and cooling effects on the body, and a group Q&A to personalise practices to your needs. You'll learn why Pitta naturally peaks in summer and what that means for body and mind; the Ayurvedic approach to summer nutrition — cooling foods, hydrating practices and what to avoid in the heat; how to protect digestion, skin and nervous system using herbs and food as medicine; herbal allies and kitchen remedies to cool and soothe; how to sustain energy and avoid the mid-summer crash; and how summer affects Vata, Pitta and Kapha differently. You walk away with recipes to implement at home.
Aman Dhillon is a qualified nutritionist and Ayurvedic doctor (BAMS, M.Sc. Food & Nutrition, India) who has worked as an Ayurveda doctor and Senior Dietitian at the Santushti Holistic Healing clinic in Chandigarh, India. She specialises in preventive health, gut health, metabolic conditions and lifestyle management. The organisers note these interactive workshops regularly sell out, so early booking is recommended.
