About This Event
Hare Krishna Melbourne (ISKCON) celebrates Sri Krishna Janmastami, the appearance day of Lord Krishna, at its Albert Park temple. The temple describes it as by far its biggest festival of the year.
The main temple programme runs from 4:30am on Saturday 5 September 2026 through to 1:00am on Sunday 6 September, building through kirtan, dance, drama and abhishek to the midnight ceremony that marks the moment of Krishna’s appearance. Prasadam (sanctified vegetarian food) is served through the day. Entry is free and all are welcome.
The temple also runs Janmastami programmes at satellite venues in Melbourne’s northern, south-eastern and western suburbs on the same date, and holds a separate Janmastami cultural program on Saturday 22 August 2026, 10:30am–8pm, at The Timber Yard, 351 Plummer St, Port Melbourne.
