About This Event
The Bengali Association of Victoria hosts Mahalaya 2026, described on its own site as a Mahalaya meet and greet, at the Glen Waverley Community Centre on Sunday 11 October 2026 from 5pm to 9pm.
Mahalaya marks the ritual opening of the Durga Puja season, and for BAV it is the community's first gathering of the festival period. It falls a week ahead of the association's main event, BAV Durga Pujo 2026, held on 17 and 18 October at GAA Gaelic Park, 324 Perry Road, Keysborough.
BAV states that full details of the Mahalaya programme will be published closer to the event date, so the running order, performers and any catering arrangements are not confirmed yet. Registration is available through the event page on bav.org.au. No ticket price has been published, so check before you travel.
The Bengali Association of Victoria is an incorporated non-profit (ABN 36 234 135 244, Reg. No. A0021171M) formed by Bengalis who migrated to Victoria. Alongside Durga Puja it runs Kali Puja, Saraswati Puja, Borsho Boron and other cultural programmes through the year. General enquiries go and ticket or booking.
