About This Event
Navodaya Perth's Onam 2026 celebration marks Kerala's harvest festival and the legendary homecoming of King Mahabali. The day at Kelmscott Hall runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with doors opening at 8:30 AM. The programme features a colourful Pookalam (floral carpet), graceful Thiruvathira performances, music and dance presentations and a range of community cultural programmes showcasing local talent, before culminating in a traditional Onasadya vegetarian feast served on a banana leaf. The Sadhya service starts at 12:30 PM.
Tickets are $25 for an Individual Ticket and $80 for a Family Ticket covering two adults and three children; the family ticket also includes free entry and sadhya for visiting parents. Children aged 5 and over must have a valid ticket. Children 4 and under are not allocated a separate seat for the sadhya and are expected to be fed from a parent's plate and seat, unless a paid child ticket is purchased for them. Seating for the cultural programme is first-come, first-served. Tickets are sold through JustEasyBook and can be scanned from a phone screen or presented as a printed confirmation; all sales are final with no refunds, exchanges or cancellations after purchase.
Navodaya Perth is one of Perth's Malayali community organisations, working to preserve and promote Kerala's cultural traditions and to build friendship among families across Western Australia. Parents are asked to supervise children during performances, and attendance implies consent to event photography and videography.
