About This Event
Sham-e-Sukhan returns after months of silence with an evening of expression hosted by Bazm-e-Urdu. The theme is Azadi - freedom - chosen to speak to the month of August and to collective, personal, political, spiritual and cultural histories. Participants are invited to share their reflections through Urdu and Hindi poetry, storytelling, spoken word, music or prose, and listeners are equally welcome to come and simply be part of the mehfil.
The evening runs as an open mic for poets, storytellers, musicians and anyone who loves language and literature, so there is no fixed line-up - the programme is made by whoever brings their words on the night. It is held at Dukkana, 99 Harding Street, Coburg, and runs for two hours from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday 14 August 2026. Note that the organiser's own listing text mistakenly calls 14 August a Saturday; Eventbrite's booking header and the structured event data both confirm Friday 14 August, 7 PM to 9 PM.
Tickets are between $15 and $20 through Eventbrite, and the organiser offers refunds up to seven days before the event. There is no separate website; bookings, questions and organiser contact all go through the Eventbrite listing.
