About This Event
Sri Sai Siva Vishnu Temple in Truganina holds its annual Upakarma for followers of the Rig and Yajur Vedas on Thursday 27 August 2026. Upakarma is the yearly renewal of the sacred thread and the ritual re-commencement of Vedic study, an important observance for those following the Vedas.
The temple runs two sittings on the day: Session 1 at 8:00am and Session 2 at 10:00am, each A$151 per participant. A separate Pratama Upakarma Homam, for anyone performing Upakarma for the first time, is held at 10:30am and costs A$251. The published programme finishes at about 12:30pm.
Booking is essential. Register and pay online through the temple's events page, then show your payment confirmation at the temple counter on the day to collect your pooja items - all pooja items are included in the sponsorship. Contact the temple to confirm your place.
The temple is at 16 Sunline Drive, Truganina VIC 3029 and is open seven days, 9:00am to 12:00pm and 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Phone 03 8375 1506 or 0411 611 031.
