About This Event
Arpo Irro Festival 2026 - Make Way for the King is billed as Sydney's biggest Onam celebration for Malayali youth, and for the first time runs as a combined indoor and outdoor festival. The programme covers large-scale live performances, music, cultural showcases and food, with the organisers promising a bigger production than previous years and a special guest whose identity has not yet been announced.
It runs from 9:30am through to 10:00pm on Saturday 29 August 2026 at Marsden High School, 8 Rhodes Street, Meadowbank NSW 2114.
This is a strictly 16+ and alcohol-free event. Anyone found with alcohol will be removed immediately, and security and local authorities will be present on site. Attendees aged 16 to 17 must buy the dedicated Under 18 ticket and supply parental or guardian consent along with emergency contact details; the consent form is sent out after purchase.
Tickets are sold through Eventik. General Admission is $75, the Under 18 ticket for 16 to 17 year olds is $45, and a group rate of $65 per person applies to bookings of 5 to 15 attendees. A Last Call tier at $85 goes on sale from 9:00am on Monday 17 August. The $60 Early Bird and $55 Pre-Sale tiers have both sold out. Tickets are non-refundable unless the event itself is cancelled.
Arpo Irro Festival is a high-energy youth Onam celebration run in both Sydney and Brisbane, aimed mainly at Malayali attendees roughly aged 16 to 35, blending traditional Onam culture with modern music, games and DJ nightlife.
