About This Event
Chef Praneel Singh's Girmitiya degustation at Aranya Acres traces the Indian-Australian story across five courses, with a glass of wine paired to every plate. The menu runs from a zucchini-flower pakora to Mooloolaba prawn tartare, besan-dusted Blue Eye Cod, a saffron-and-coconut bouillabaisse with West Australian langoustine, and a warm three-milk Samai to finish. The wines are almost entirely from the Canberra District. Vegetarian and vegan options are available at every course.
The dinner is on Saturday 8 August 2026 with a 6:30pm start, at $138 per person for the five courses with pairings. Seats are limited and bookings are required through the venue.
Aranya Acres is a native-Australian restaurant, cocktail bar and vineyard venue at 810 Norton Road, Wamboin NSW, about 30 minutes from Canberra CBD; the name is Sanskrit for wilderness, or a quiet secluded place. The kitchen is open Thursday to Sunday, lunch 11am-4pm and dinner 5pm-10pm, and the venue also runs Live Jazz Fridays and Trivia Thursdays.
