About This Event

Celebrate Holi in Canberra

Canberra Holi Festival 2026 is a two-day celebration created to bring communities together in the spirit of unity in diversity. Inspired by one of India’s most beloved festivals, this vibrant event invites everyone to experience a joyful explosion of culture, colours, food, song, dance, and live entertainment.

Holi marks the triumph of good over evil and the transition from winter to spring. The festival celebrates togetherness across backgrounds, religions, castes, orientations and beliefs — and this Canberra edition carries that same inclusive spirit, welcoming all to join a huge family-friendly weekend.

What to expect

Attendees can look forward to a lively festival atmosphere filled with:

  • Holi colour play
  • Live music and dance performances
  • Crowd interaction and stage entertainment
  • Indian food stalls
  • Indian bazaar stalls
  • Multicultural community celebration
  • A festive family day out across two big days

The organisers describe it as two huge full family days, open to all, where visitors can witness the tastes, sounds, culture and arts of Indians living in Australia.

Special experiences

The festival also promotes extra ticketed experiences and add-ons, including:

  • Express Entry options
  • VIP access with inclusions such as a colour packet, T-shirt, drink voucher and all-day access
  • Maharaja ticket option for a premium experience
  • Welcome drink (Thandai)
  • Holi After Dark featuring glow-in-the-dark colours and light-and-colour performances

Community-powered celebration

This event is positioned as a major multicultural gathering in Canberra, attracting families, students and visitors from across the city. Businesses, performers and volunteers are all invited to be part of the celebration.

Opportunities include

  • Performing on stage for musicians, dancers and artists
  • Stallholder participation for food, retail, entertainment and community groups
  • Sponsorship opportunities with strong visibility in the community
  • Volunteering across event management, crowd support, marketing and customer service

A colourful cultural tradition

Back in India, Holi is known for bonfires, music, dance and playful colour throwing. Canberra Holi Festival brings that festive energy to Australia in a big, inclusive format — a joyful celebration of Indian culture and community where people can connect, play, eat, dance and make lasting memories.

Namaste and welcome on board!
