About This Event
The Australia Kriya Yoga Association runs a two-day Kriya Yoga Initiation Program at the Hindu Temple & Cultural Centre, 81 Ratcliffe Crescent, Florey, on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August 2026. Places are strictly limited to 12 new initiations and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Day one runs Saturday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and covers registration, the initiation ceremony, teaching of the techniques and a guided meditation. Day two runs Sunday from 8:30am to 1:30pm and covers a review of the techniques, a question-and-answer session and two guided meditations. A simple vegetarian lunch is provided on both days.
Fees are $250 per person, $400 per family and $200 concession for students, pensioners and the unemployed. A $50 deposit is required to secure a place, paid by bank transfer to the Australia Kriya Yoga Association using the reference 'CBR' plus your initial and surname (for example, CBR J Smith). Registration is through the online booking form linked on the temple's event page, and participants are asked to watch the 'Introduction to Kriya Yoga' talk by Paramahamsa Prajnananandaji beforehand.
This is an initiation program rather than an introductory class. It is intended for people with a genuine interest in being initiated and ready to commit to continuing the practice; anyone still exploring is pointed to kriya.org.au first. 0434 837 617 (Venkat Rao).
