About This Event
Bongosathi - The Bengali Cultural Association, in collaboration with the Bengali Association of Victoria (BAV), presents a musical tribute marking the birth anniversary of the legendary Asha Bhosle, on Sunday 6 September 2026 from 5.30pm at the Christine Strachan Theatre, South Oakleigh College.
The programme is built around Asha Bhosle's catalogue: timeless Hindi and Bengali songs, popular hits from the 1990s through to more recent favourites, and group dance performances choreographed to her evergreen numbers. The evening is performed in Bengali and Hindi and is billed as suitable for all age groups and family-friendly.
Entry is free, but registration is compulsory - book a $0 ticket in advance through Premier Tickets rather than turning up on the door. Food and drinks can be pre-ordered at the time of booking. The organisers note that right of admission is reserved, that people may be searched for prohibited items, that anyone behaving badly can be evicted without refund, and that parts of the event may be filmed or broadcast.
The venue is the Christine Strachan Theatre, a performance space inside the South Oakleigh College campus on Bakers Road, Oakleigh South VIC 3167. Enquiries can go to Bongosathi 0478 173 534.
