About This Event
Sarbojanin Puja Utsav of Victoria (SPUVIC) holds its annual Durgotsav over three days at Epping Memorial Hall (Main Hall), 827 High Street, Epping. In 2026 the festival runs Shashthi on Friday 23 October from 6:00pm to 10:30pm, Saptami and Ashtami on Saturday 24 October from 10:00am to 11:00pm, and Navami and Dashami on Sunday 25 October from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
The puja is celebrated with full ritual detail. The first day covers Bilva Nimantran, Kalparambha, Akal Bodhon, Amantran and Adhivas. The second day brings Saptami puja including Navpatrika Puja and Kolabou Puja, followed by Ashtami puja with Durga Ashtami, Kumari Puja and Sandhi Puja. The final day covers Navami, including Maha Navami Puja, Durga Balidan and Navami Homa, then Dashami with Durga Visarjan, Vijayadashami and Sindoor Utsav.
Alongside the rituals, SPUVIC runs colourful cultural programmes performed by community talent and by external professional performers, and the weekend doubles as a showcase of traditional Bengali dress and sharee. Special feasts are organised across all three days of festivities: dinner on the Friday, lunch and dinner on the Saturday, and lunch plus an evening feast on the Sunday.
Entry and meal pricing had not been published on spuvic.org at the time of listing. For enquiries contact SPUVIC.
