About This Event
Indian flute maestro Pandit Rakesh Chaurasia performs an evening of Hindustani classical music on the bansuri in Melbourne on Sunday 16 August 2026. Doors open at 5:30 PM and the concert begins at 6:00 PM at the Tony Sheumack Centre for the Performing Arts, the theatre inside Beaconhills College's Berwick campus.
A two-time Grammy winner, Rakesh Chaurasia carries forward the legacy of his uncle, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, and is known for a command of the bansuri that moves between strict tradition and more contemporary phrasing. The programme is built around intricate ragas, extended melodic passages and rhythmic interplay, and Premier Tickets pitches it at connoisseurs and first-time classical listeners alike. It is presented by Melbourne cultural organiser Natkhat Ghar.
Tickets start at $59.00 (Platinum) through Premier Tickets and are listed as suitable for all age groups; the performance is in Hindi. Children under 5 enter free but are not allocated a seat. Prices may change at the organiser's discretion and a booking fee may be added per ticket, so confirm the total before paying. Tickets are non-refundable once purchased, with no exchanges or cancellations. Bring a printed ticket confirmation for scanning plus photo ID.
The venue sits within a school campus at 92 Kangan Drive, Berwick VIC 3806 - allow time to find the performing arts centre once on site.
