About This Event
Motta Maadi Music come to Australia for the first time, playing the Corner Hotel in Richmond on Sunday 2 August 2026 from 7:30pm, with support from Into the Unknown.
Motta Maadi Music is a Tamil band led by Badhri Seshadhri, featuring an ensemble of musicians who take the audience on a journey through their favourite Tamil songs, singing together and bringing a little bit of home to far away from home. The band bills the Australian run as a chance to sing and dance along with namma makkal in a ragalai max show.
This is a standing, general-admission show and the performance is in Tamil. Tickets are sold through the Corner Hotel's Oztix outlet. The early bird general admission tier at $71.05 has sold out; first-release general admission standing is $77.20, with a first-release student ticket at $69.00. Group tickets are $209.80 for four or $311.80 for six. A second release at $81.25 and a final release at $87.40 are listed as available soon.
The show is strictly 18+. The Corner Hotel asks patrons to help keep the room a safe space for everyone — crowd surfing and dangerous behaviour will result in removal from the venue. If you can no longer make it, tickets can be resold through the venue's resale partner, Tixel.
