About This Event

IndoMystic Events, together with a collective of Melbourne kirtan enthusiasts and bhakti yoga devotees, hosts an evening of kirtan for Sri Krishna Janmashtami 2026 on the beachfront at the Elwood Angling Club on Saturday 5 September 2026. Arrive from 6.00pm for a 6.30pm start; the chanting concludes at 8.30pm, followed by prasad and time for reflections, with the session listed as finishing at 9.00pm.

Kirtan is the congregational call-and-response singing of the holy names, the core practice of bhakti yoga, carried by sacred melodies and rhythms with kartalas (hand cymbals) and mrdanga (drum). The organisers describe the evening as a chance to raise the collective vibration through sacred music, chanting and presence, and welcome newcomers and long-time practitioners equally.

Dandelion chai and prasad (light refreshments) are provided. The event is donation-based to help cover venue and food costs, and registration through Eventbrite is essential - it is the only way in, and no refunds are offered on bookings. Bring whatever will keep you comfortable seated for the evening: a cushion or meditation pillow, a yoga mat, a blanket or shawl for warmth, and your favourite tea or coffee cup.

The venue is the Elwood Angling Club, 3 Warrain Loop, Elwood VIC 3184, right on the beachfront. For event information the organisers ask you; IndoMystic Events can also be +61 420 711 110.
